| Waste Tetralogy explores waste as an everyday condition through four dimensions: food, water, time, and aesthetics. A pear, water droplet, hourglass, and the Chinese character “美” (beauty) serve as symbolic forms, each transformed into the visual language of a black plastic garbage bag. By turning valuable resources and concepts into the appearance of discarded objects, the series creates a direct visual metaphor for consumption, loss, and neglect. The deliberately unconventional, highly saturated background colors function as visual warnings, designed to capture attention immediately in public spaces. Their striking contrast increases visibility while reinforcing a sense of urgency. Through this combination of symbolic imagery and warning-like color, the project invites viewers to reconsider what we waste—and what cannot be recovered once it is lost. |
