Design Description: The design work uses the lost Miao characters as the visual image element, and transforms the Miao character symbols into three-dimensional forms. The Miao characters mainly originated in the southwestern region of China as well as in areas such as Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam where the Miao ethnic group has its own script. The design of the planar form of the Miao characters refers to the "World Script Atlas" compiled by the World Script Research Association. The transformation of the planar Miao characters into three-dimensional space mainly adopts the methods of twisting and stretching.

The public sculpture "Lost Miao Characters" is one of the Miao ethnic culture-themed series works, and is mainly applied in the public space of the Ethnic Village in Yunnan. The series includes the urban furniture design of "Lost Miao Characters", as well as the public space lighting design based on the Miao character shape, and the design of related tourism souvenirs of Miao characters. This design aims to introduce the Miao character shapes into the public space, promoting the dissemination range of minority cultures.
