Retrospect · 2023 Inaugural Launch
The inaugural 2023 Award, initially held as the Asian Vanguard Art and Design Exchange Exhibition, garnered unexpectedly widespread attention, receiving over 3,700 works from 18 countries and regions. Participants included universities, studios, and design agencies from across the Asia-Pacific, yielding a multitude of works rich in experimental spirit and cultural depth. Exhibited at the ASEAN International Convention and Exhibition Center through the Asia Design Week platform, the Award received media coverage from institutions such as the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University and the Faculty of Humanities and Arts, Macau University of Science and Technology, establishing its international reputation.
Momentum · 2024 Global Expansion
Submissions increased substantially, with entries arriving from 43 countries and regions across five continents, marking a significant enhancement in international influence. In addition to active participation from major Asian organizations, the Award attracted submissions from world-leading institutions like Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Royal College of Art. The jury panel brought together distinguished designers and scholars from China, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Egypt, and other nations, constructing a diverse and professional evaluation system. Winning works were successively exhibited at various Asian design weeks/festivals and university tours. On-site displays received consistent praise from guests, including the President of the World Design Organization™, among other Chinese and international dignitaries.
Furthermore, winning works were featured in reports by prestigious universities both domestically and internationally. Related exhibitions and creative outcomes garnered attention from official media outlets like Xinhua News Agency and Hebei Satellite TV, and received in-depth coverage in several magazine special features. This propelled the integrated development of design with industry, culture, and education, further highlighting the Award's professional value and social significance.
