The Global Design Award 2025 (GDA 2025) has been launched!

Since its inception in 1975 by the Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA), the Global Design Award (GDA) has been one of the most influential design competitions in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2025, the GDA celebrates its 50th anniversary. This year's competition, themed "Global Focus, Design Going Global," aims to serve as a bridge connecting the global design community, enabling Asian design to reach the world while introducing top international design awards to Asia.

GDA 2025: Designed for Every Design

Whether you are a designer, design owner, design user (client), brand owner and their designer or design consultant, as long as your submitted work is actually launched, produced and (for commercial designs) available in any market after January 1, 2020, you are eligible to participate! There is no limit to the number of submissions, covering five major categories: graphic design, digital design, product design, interior design and fashion design, with 56 subcategories, truly "designed for every design".

Global judging panel, authoritative certification

GDA 2025 features several awards, including the GDA Gold Award, the GDA Top 10 Global Design Awards, and the GDA Design Award, which aim to recognize outstanding and pioneering designs from around the world.

All entries will be rigorously judged by 13 professional judges from 10 different countries and regions around the world to ensure the internationalization and authority of the awards. These representatives from different design fields will dedicate themselves to discovering the world's most innovative and talented designers!

International support organizations bring together global design talent

The supporting organizations of GDA2025 represent design communities from different regions and fields around the world, including Greater China, Italy, South Korea, Thailand and India, bringing together international design talents and works to provide a larger platform for participants.

Competition Details

The application deadline is March 14, 2025, and the awards ceremony will be held on April 25, 2025, at Sky100, 100th Floor, International Commerce Centre, Hong Kong. Top designers from around the world will gather in Hong Kong to present honors to the winners.

Furthermore, the Hong Kong Designers Association will concurrently host the Hong Kong Design Summit 2025, including a judges' sharing session, the BDA Brand Awards 2025 ceremony, and DesignMatch, Hong Kong's largest one-on-one design x business matchmaking event. Winners will have the opportunity to network with top ; and through the DesignMatch event, they will build lasting connections with potential collaborators and clients.

Asia's Design Capital, a Global Stage for Creativity

As Asia's first international cross-disciplinary design award, the GDA has been promoting global design excellence for 50 years. GDA 2025 will showcase winning entries to the industry and the public through various channels, providing participants with an excellent platform to promote themselves, their brands, or their companies to the global market.

Ms. Mui Ngo-Sheng, Chairperson of the Hong Kong Designers Association, said: “Founded in 1972, the Hong Kong Designers Association is the first and most comprehensive association of its kind in Hong Kong. It aims to cultivate designers’ professional design spirit, promote the development of the design industry, and raise public awareness of design. We hope to work hand in hand with global participants, design elites, and partners to achieve the theme of this year’s competition – ‘Global Focus on Creative Going Global’ – and further enhance Hong Kong’s status as an internationally renowned Asian design capital.”
