At the beginning of the new year, under the guidance of the China Academy of Art, Asia Design Week joined hands with the School of Social Aesthetic Education of the China Academy of Art in Ningbo, a historic port city, serving as the Collaborating Organization for “Gleanings from the Earth: The 2nd Youth Creative Design (Installation) Exhibition.”

Exhibition Theme

The exhibition, themed " Symbiosis of All Things, Dreaming of the Future, " explores the path to harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature, and between humanity and society, through the unique perspective of youth creative design. This is not only a practice of aesthetic education but also an artistic dialogue that echoes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advocates for the concept of multiculturalism and a shared future for humanity.

Special Presentation: Asia Design Week Module

As the Collaborating Organization, Asia Design Week incorporated the theme of “Symbiosis of All Things,” working alongside the exhibited works to depict the inheritance and innovation of culture. The exhibition featured interactive and display areas, using art and design to inspire young people's imaginations about future lifestyles, and combined with the unique cultural characteristics of Ningbo to create a distinctive visual and spiritual experience.

Four major thematic sections

This exhibition combines the Lunar New Year of the Snake with the cultural characteristics of Ningbo. In addition to the Asian Design Week module, the organizers have also set up four major themes:

• The auspicious snake brings good fortune, and spring begins a new journey: bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new, feeling the warm blessings of culture.

• Auspicious signs for the Year of the Snake, springtime and dreams intertwined: tradition and creativity blended in the artwork.

• The golden snake brings forth the colors of spring, and all living things gather in the river: the beauty of nature flows through art.

• The Year of the Snake arrives, and all things embark on a new journey: New Year's visions set sail from creativity.

Through these whimsical and artistic installations, young visitors will be able to experience the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture and appreciate the infinite possibilities that design brings to life.
