Recently, Korea Marine Design Association (KMDA) and Asia Design Week (ADW) officially announced the establishment of a strategic partnership, aiming to jointly promote academic research on marine design and the exchanges and development in the field of Asian art and design. Meanwhile, the Regional Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of Asia Design Week in Korea have been appointed.

Founded in August 2014, Korea Marine Design Association (KMDA) focuses on the field of "marine design" and promotes academic development by integrating various marine sectors and design activities. KMDA actively encourages academic activities on marine design in Korea, with the goal of becoming a global center for marine design. The association is currently carrying out the "JMDR Marine Design Research" focusing on marine design and publishing academic journals based on it. Through biannual submissions to academic journals, KMDA provides a platform for academic exchanges and communication with its members, aiming to strengthen the association and promote academic growth through these academic activities.

Asia Design Week (ADW) is an international design exhibition and event hosted by the Organizing Committee of Asia Design Week, held annually at the end of the year. It aims to promote exchanges and development in the field of Asian art and design. Events held by ADW each year, such as the Asian Vanguard Art and Design Exhibition, have brought together outstanding works from Asia and around the world, showing great attention to the development of Asian culture and creative industries.

In this cooperation, KMDA will participate in the series of activities of ADW for the first time. Both parties will jointly organize relevant exhibitions, academic seminars and design competitions. Through this cooperation, KMDA and ADW will create more opportunities for the integration of Asian design disciplines and industries.
