First Exhibition of the New Year | Layered Shadows of Time: From the Spring Festival Gala Living Room to the Asian New Silk Road!

Asia Design Week Dual Exhibition Project · Ximen Ancient Street

Ximen Ancient Street, as one of the venues for the China Media Group Spring Festival Gala's Yiwu sub-venue, has become a significant cultural landmark for this year's urban Spring Festival celebrations.

Centered around the theme "Tour Yiwu Following the Spring Festival Gala, Explore Ximen with Joy," the local cultural and tourism system has coordinated a series of folk performances, opera concerts, interactive experiences, and intangible cultural heritage market activities, creating a multi-dimensional cultural scene during the Spring Festival period.

Exhibition Dates: Starting from the First Day of the Lunar New Year

Within the broader cultural framework, Asia Design Week is responsible for the planning and presentation of two main exhibition halls:

  1. Spring Festival Gala Theme Hall (Co-curated)

  2. Asian Vanguard Art Exhibition (Asian Vanguard Art and Design Exhibition)

Using "Life Memories" and "Mutual Learning Among Civilizations" as the core narrative threads, the exhibitions inject contemporary expression and an international perspective into the Spring Festival cultural activities at Ximen Ancient Street.

I. Spring Festival Gala Exhibition Area
"Spring Radiance Fills the Room, Moments Solidified in Time – 40 Years of Life Changes Through the Spring Festival Gala"

As the opening unit of "Layered Shadows of Time: From the Spring Festival Gala Living Room to the Asian New Silk Road," this exhibition centers on "40 Years of Life Changes Through the Spring Festival Gala," creating an "immersive family memory space."

Taking decades as its timeline, the exhibition recreates living room scenes from the 1980s up to 2025. Through retro furniture, period artifacts, and looping classic Spring Festival Gala footage, visitors can relive the emotional memories of family reunions as they walk through. A specially designed "window-viewing" installation embeds imagery of Asian society and culture within the family scenes, fostering a subtle dialogue between personal life memories and Asia's historical progression, establishing an emotional and logical foundation for the "symbiotic narrative" of the dual exhibitions.

II. Asian Vanguard Art and Design Exhibition Area
"Vanguard Rising · Light of the Silk Road"

As a key node city on the new "Silk Road" in the new era, Yiwu continues to thrive within the global network of trade and cultural exchange.

This "Asian Vanguard Art and Design Exhibition" is grounded in Yiwu's contemporary significance as a pivotal node,汇聚 design and artistic achievements from countries and regions along the "Belt and Road." It responds to the new propositions of exchange and mutual learning among civilizations through contemporary design and art.

The exhibition focuses on emerging creative forces from diverse cultural backgrounds, presenting the fusion and symbiosis between tradition and innovation, local experience and global vision. It showcases the creativity and possibilities nurtured by cross-cultural collaboration.

"Vanguard Rising" symbolizes the growth of young creators and the vibrant spirit of the times;
"Light of the Silk Road" signifies the intellectual brilliance and design wisdom sparked by mutual learning among civilizations.
