
In 2025, Asia Design Week achieved systematic breakthroughs in international cooperation, academic research, exhibition curation, industrial linkage, and talent cultivation. The year's activities spanned multiple sectors including art, design, technology, culture, industrial exchange, youth talent support, and innovation in intangible cultural heritage and digital culture, forming an international design and cultural brand matrix that extended across many Asian countries and radiated to universities and industry organizations. This not only strengthened the strategic positioning of "design-driven sustainable cultural development" but also promoted the deep integration between China and countries along the "Belt and Road" and ASEAN nations in the fields of culture, education, and industry.
Throughout its various activities, Asia Design Week leveraged transnational association alliances, government agencies, top-tier universities, and international expert resources to achieve multi-level, cross-disciplinary exchange and cooperation. The year's projects included international awards, large-scale touring exhibitions, international conferences, joint exhibition areas, digital art presentations, the launch of an international academic journal, collaboration with competition platforms, and co-hosting academic events, providing multi-dimensional value output for the design and art industries.

In 2025, the Asian Vanguard Art and Design Award (AVADA) continued its mission of supporting young creative forces with a comprehensive upgrade. It was jointly organized with several renowned national/regional associations from Asia and Europe and received support from various partner institutions domestically and internationally. This attracted submissions from universities and young designers in countries including China, South Korea, Japan, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, Malaysia, and Indonesia. For this new edition, award certificates were jointly issued and endorsed with associations including the International Public Association "Union of Designers", Russia, Macao International Design Alliance, Industrial Design Development Association of Taipei, The Korean Society of Illustration Research, Korea Society of Color Studies, Malaysian Graphic Design Association, and Mongolian National Designer's Association. Jury members included presidents of well-known international industry associations and professors from professional institutions in countries such as Japan, Belgium, Russia, and South Korea. The "Vanguard Rising" exhibition tour series was launched to help disseminate the power of emerging Asian design.

From May 9th to 11th, 2025, the "ASEAN-China Design Convergence" summit, organized by Asia Design Week and Design Asia Collective, was successfully held at Sunway College, Malaysia. The conference received strong support from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Malaysia, and was co-organized by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysia, the Malaysia Design Council (MRM) , the Malaysian Graphic Design Association (mREGA) , and Sunway College. The summit invited a total of 16 representatives, experts, and scholars from design organizations in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Macao (China), and Mainland China. Among them, presidents and council members from renowned associations such as the Shenzhen Graphic Design Association, the Macau Product Design Association, the Graphic Design Association of Indonesia (ADGI), and the Thai Graphic Designers Association served as speakers. Azmi Abdullah, Senior Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia, attended the event in person, and Amirul Fadhli Che Ismail, Chairman of the Malaysia Design Council (MRM) , delivered the keynote address.



From December 1st to 30th, 2025, the relevant outcomes continued to receive support from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Malaysia and the National Art Gallery, with Asia Design Week jointly participating in curating a digital art exhibition at the National Art Gallery Malaysia.


The 2nd International Poster Exhibition of Asian Urban Culture & The "Belt and Road" China-ASEAN Digital Art Exhibition, organized by Asia Design Week and co-organized by the Malaysian Graphic Design Association, Macau Poster Design Association, and Design Asia Collective, was jointly hosted by universities including East University of Heilongjiang, the School of Humanities (Dalian) of LuXun Academy of Fine Arts, Dalian Art College, and UCSI University Malaysia. The jury for this exhibition comprised renowned designers, scholars, and art critics from Mainland China, Macao (China), Malaysia, Thailand, and other countries and regions. The exhibited works spanned various categories including graphic posters, illustration, digital art, and AIGC, vividly showcasing the diverse facets and vibrant innovative energy of Asian urban culture.
This exhibition toured three countries: China, Malaysia, and Thailand. News coverage of the various tour stops was published and reported not only by the official news outlets of the host universities but also by media such as People's Daily Online, Xinhuanet, CRI Online (China Radio International), the Education Department of Henan Province, Henan Daily, Heilongjiang Daily, Tianjin Daily, and provincial, municipal, and county-level media at the tour locations. To date, the total online views have reached two million. For each exhibition tour stop, distinguished guests were invited to attend the opening ceremony, including local education ministry officials, university presidents, deans, department heads, museum and gallery directors, association presidents/chairpersons, and renowned professors from various universities.

The First International Conference on Clothing Heritage and Digital Fashion was initiated by Asia Design Week and jointly organized with the School of Digital Technology and Creative Design, Jiangnan University; the School of Art, Soochow University; and the Sponge Creative Research Institute. It also saw participation from multiple universities as co-organizers, including Beijing Union University, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Sichuan Normal University, Qilu University of Technology, Hunan Institute of Engineering, Henan University of Engineering, Henan University of Economics and Law, Shandong Vocational College of Science and Technology, and Nanjing Normal University of Special Education, forming a collaborative university framework covering directions such as clothing, art design, digital technology, and cultural studies.
At the hosting and academic support level, the conference was hosted by the editorial department of Fashion Theory, the Inheritance Base of Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture (Ministry of Education) at Jiangnan University, and the Jiangsu Province Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Base (Jiangnan University). It received support from research platforms such as the National and Provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers at Soochow University and the Zhejiang Provincial Research Center for Digital Style and Creative Design. Academic support was provided by the Journal of Clothing Research and Design and Art Studies, with public welfare support from the Beijing Guanghua Design Development Foundation, establishing a complete and stable academic and public support system.
Guaranteed by this organizational and support framework, the conference attracted submissions from 56 universities and research institutions across countries and regions including Mainland China, Hong Kong (China), New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand, receiving a total of 387 papers. After multiple rounds of rigorous review by the expert committee, 32 papers were ultimately selected for oral presentation at the conference. These papers collectively showcase the latest research achievements at the intersection of clothing heritage, digital fashion, and new technologies, further highlighting Asia Design Week's platform influence in organizing digital fashion academics, fostering international university linkages, and promoting interdisciplinary integration.



On the opening day, Mr. Li Sheng, Founder of Asia Design Week, welcomed several key leaders and guests at the exhibition area, including Wang Zhengpu, Governor of the Hebei Provincial People's Government; Zhao Dachun, Vice Governor; Zhu Haowen, Secretary-General; Cui Shutian, Deputy Director of the Department of Industrial Policies and Regulations, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Wang Suwen, Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Hebei Province; Song Xiangdang, Deputy Director; and Ms. Feng Changhong, Executive Director of the Xiong'an New Area Future Industrial Design Research Institute and Director of the Hebei Future Industrial Design Center, along with other relevant officials.

Mr. Li Sheng, Founder of Asia Design Week, actively participated in significant concurrent events. During the "Xiong'an Design Digital Intelligence Forum" on the afternoon of September 21st, Mr. Li Sheng was invited to moderate the roundtable dialogue "Intelligent Innovation Integration: Activating the Core Power of Innovative Design." At the International New Product Launch on September 22nd, he delivered a keynote speech titled "Connecting Asia Through Design: Building a New Platform for Cultural Exchange and Design Innovation," systematically sharing the key activity modules of Asia Design Week in recent years. On September 25th, he was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Hebei International Industrial Design Week · Dingzhou Branch Venue and deliver a keynote speech.


In 2025, Asia Design Week officially launched the international academic journal Design and Art Studies, positioning it as a comprehensive international academic platform integrating art, design, technology, and cultural studies. The inaugural issue focused on themes such as the sustainable development of Asian culture, design research in the digital age, cross-cultural exchange, and urban aesthetics. The establishment of this journal marks a significant strategic development for Asia Design Week within the international academic ecosystem. Mr. Li Sheng, Founder of Asia Design Week, serves as the Executive Editor-in-Chief, with renowned university deans and professors acting as Deputy Editors-in-Chief. Additionally, distinguished professors from both domestic and international institutions have been invited to serve on the editorial board. Papers published in the journal have already been indexed in databases.

2.10th Design Marathon 2025
On September 27, 2025, the 10th "Design Marathon", which lasted for two weeks, successfully concluded in Beijing. This large-scale international workshop, hosted by Beijing Fashion Institute and Beijing Design Society and co-initiated with the participation of Asia Design Week, has been held annually for ten consecutive years. Over the past decade, Design Marathon has attracted participation from over 400 universities and enterprises across more than 30 countries, incubating numerous creative design achievements and establishing itself as a vital international platform promoting the integration of design education and practice.

3.The 3rd China-ASEAN Industrial Design Week
From September 18th to 21st, 2025, the 3rd China-ASEAN Industrial Design Week was held in Nanning. This Design Week event was jointly organized by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the International Economic and Technological Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It was hosted by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's Industrial Promotion and SME Service Center, Beijing MIIT International Technology Development Co., Ltd., and the Guangxi Industrial Design Association. Co-organizers included the Shenzhen Industrial Design Association, the China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Center, and Asia Design Week.

4.International Conference on Intelligent Design and Computing (IC-IDC)
The 2026 International Conference on Intelligent Design and Computing (IC-IDC 2026) will be held in Wuhan, China, from May 15-17, 2026, with the call for papers launching in 2025. The conference is organized by Hubei University of Technology, with Asia Design Week participating as a co-organizer. 5.Fashion Intelligent Wearable Design Innovation Conference
The 2025 Fashion Intelligent Wearable Design Innovation Conference was held on December 10-11, 2025. It was organized by the China Institute of Garment Science and Technology and Jiangnan University, with Asia Design Week participating as a supporting unit.

6.International Conference on Design Innovation and Green Intelligent Manufacturing


In 2025, Asia Design Week advanced the development of its international organizational system, participating in the initiation of Design Asia Collective and co-founding the Sino–Foreign Collaborative Design Alliance in partnership with relevant Sino-foreign cooperative programs and universities. These two alliances are oriented towards the "Asian Regional Cooperation Platform" and the "Educational Resource Platform for Chinese and International Universities," respectively, jointly forming the dual fulcrum for transnational design collaboration.
Mr. Li Sheng, Founder of Asia Design Week, holds key positions such as Vice President and Core Advisor within the alliance system. He is responsible for coordinating transnational cooperation mechanisms, linking international educational resources, and overseeing joint exhibitions and academic collaborations, providing sustained momentum for the co-construction and interconnection of the regional design ecosystem.


In 2025, Asia Design Week achieved significant results in publishing and content consolidation, with several international exhibition collections successfully published, further完善 the academic and cultural archive system of Asia Design Week. Notably, the collection for the *1st International Poster Exhibition of Asian Urban Culture & Commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of China-Malaysia Diplomatic Relations* was officially approved for publication with ISBN 978-629-7673-70-7, becoming an important publication for China-Malaysia cultural exchange.
Simultaneously, the ASEAN-China Design Convergence Summit concurrently published the collection Synthesis: ASEAN-China Design Convergence, systematically presenting creative achievements from China and abroad, along with cases of transnational design collaboration.
Furthermore, the collection for the 2nd International Poster Exhibition of Asian Urban Culture has entered the publication process and will be officially released soon, further consolidating the international dissemination influence of the annual brand exhibition.

In 2025, Asia Design Week comprehensively showcased the innovation and diverse values of Asian design through international cooperation, academic research, exhibition curation, and youth talent cultivation.
Looking ahead, Asia Design Week will continue its mission of "design-driven sustainable cultural development," deepening transnational exchanges, promoting the integration of academia and industry, and expanding innovation platforms for digital and traditional culture. It will continuously shape the new landscape of the design ecosystem in Asia and beyond, providing broader development space for young designers and injecting sustained momentum into regional cultural exchange and innovative practice.
