The 2nd International Poster Exhibition of Asian Urban Culture and the "Belt and Road" Digital Art Exhibition of China ASEAN Integration was successfully opened at the UCSI University


On October 7th, 2025, The 2nd International Poster Exhibition of Asian Urban Culture and the "Belt and Road" Digital Art Exhibition of China ASEAN Integration Initiative were grandly opened at De Institute of Creative Arts and Design, UCSI University.
This exhibition is organied by the Asia Design Week, co-organized by Malaysian Graphic Design Association, Macao Poster Design Association, Design Asia Collective and hosted by De Institute of Creative Arts and Design, UCSI University. The event, by collecting and showcasing the outstanding works of designers from multiple countries, has created a visual and intellectual feast that transcends national boundaries. It aims to display the cultural charm of China and ASEAN countries under the background of the "Belt and Road Initiative", and further promote cultural exchanges and cooperation among regions.

The opening ceremony brought together heavyweight guests from multiple fields such as design, education and culture. The opening ceremony of this event was organized by De Institute of Creative Arts and Design, UCSI University, and was hosted by Xu Qiyu, a doctoral student at UCSI University. This event attracted extensive attention from the international design community. The leaders and guests present at the opening ceremony included:

We hope that this will serve as an opportunity for us to use art and design to build a bridge of connection and jointly depict the future picture of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and the community with a shared future for mankind.

Subsequently, Li Sheng, Founder and CEO of Asia Design Week, stated in his speech that this exhibition aims to build a bridge for cultural exchange through design and promote dialogue and integration of creative forces in the Asian region. The event showcased the artistic achievements of cross-cultural cooperation under the background of the "Belt and Road Initiative", highlighting the unique value of design in promoting mutual learning among civilizations. Asia Design Week looks forward to taking this as an opportunity for the Asian Design Week to continue its efforts to promote regional cooperation and jointly explore ways to connect the world through creativity and create a bright future together.

Finally, Dr. Miao Ping, the chief planner and chief curator of the International Poster Exhibition of Asian Urban Culture and an associate professor at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, introduced in her speech that from May 26th to August 20th, 2025, 3,190 works were collected for this exhibition. Now, 140 works from the invited group, teacher group, student group and professional group have been selected for the exhibition. This exhibition brings together design forces from multiple countries/regions in Asia and Europe, showcasing the diversity and innovative vitality of Asian urban culture. Through visual creations on four major themes, the latest achievements of cultural integration and artistic dialogue under the background of the "Belt and Road Initiative" are vividly presented. These works not only build a cross-cultural exchange platform, but also demonstrate the profound significance of art in promoting mutual learning among civilizations and advancing regional cooperation.

Amidst warm applause, the organizers and all the participating guests jointly cut the ribbon for the exhibition, marking the official opening of The 2nd International Poster Exhibition of Asian Urban Culture and the "Belt and Road" Digital Art Exhibition of China ASEAN Integration. Subsequently, the organizers and the guests exchanged commemorative gifts, bringing the atmosphere of friendly cooperation and promoting cultural exchange on the spot to a climax.
The entire opening ceremony came to a successful conclusion in a relaxed yet solemn atmosphere. After the ceremony, the attending guests moved to the exhibition area, stopped to exchange ideas and take photos in front of the selected works, jointly documenting this important moment that promoted regional art dialogue.

The overseas tour exhibition will last until November 13, 2025 and will be held successively. It will be conducted in Malaysia and Thailand. On the occasion of The 2nd International Poster Exhibition of Asian Urban Culture and the "Belt and Road" Digital Art Exhibition of China ASEAN Integration, with the joint efforts of the chief curator and the co-curators team as well as the organizing unit, the exhibition has fully demonstrated the diverse features and cultural depth of Asian design. With its unique artistic perspective, it has deepened regional cultural exchanges and become an important milestone in cross-cultural dialogue.
