The First "TGA | Yushang Award – World Fine Liquor & Fine Vessel Design Competition" Final Review Successfully Held

When the millennium-old liquor culture collides with modern design aesthetics, when Eastern craftsmanship integrates with international creativity, a design feast dedicated to fine liquors and fine vessels grandly commenced today at the Jingdezhen Taobocheng. As a key component of the "TGA | Tiangong Award" series, the inaugural "TGA | Yushang Award – World Fine Liquor & Fine Vessel Design Competition" has, since its launch, focused on "inheriting liquor culture and innovating vessel aesthetics," attracting widespread attention from global breweries, packaging manufacturers, design companies, and students. A total of over 300 design works blending innovation, artistry, and practicality were submitted. Ultimately, 220 works stood out to advance to the final selection, competing for the ultimate honors today.

For this final review, the competition invited an authoritative jury composed of experts from the design and liquor industries both domestically and internationally, ensuring the professionalism, fairness, and authority of the evaluation process. The professional judging panel brought together top-tier talents from the industry: Cheng Jianxin, Specially Invited Vice President of the China Industrial Design Association and Director of the Art and Design Institute at East China University of Science and Technology; Zhang Xiang, Professor at the Advertising School of Communication University of China and Vice President of the National Advertising Research Institute; Liu Wen, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Okamoto Creative Co., Ltd.; Zhang Zhaoyang, Founder of Chengdu Beilingjun Design Office; Yu Jianfeng, Dean of the School of Design and Art at Jingdezhen Ceramic University and Secretary-General of the Cultural and Creative Industry Branch of the China Cultural Industry Association; Wu Kuanfu, Founder of Shenzhen Zhuoshang Brand. The international jury consisted of Siam Attariya, Founder of the Thai Graphic Designers Association and judge for the Golden Pin Design Award; Li Sheng, President of Asia Design Week; and Liu Huazhi, Founder of CHIlCesign and Board Member of Macao Polytechnic University.

At the final review site, the 220 shortlisted works were displayed in two major categories based on material: the Glass Category and the Ceramics Category. From灵动通透 glass liquor vessels to warm and dignified ceramic liquor sets, each work showcased the designers' understanding and creativity regarding "fine liquor and fine vessels" through unique forms, exquisite craftsmanship, and profound cultural connotations. The evaluation strictly adhered to the principles of "fairness, justice, and openness," using five core dimensions – "Overall Innovation, Product Form, Visual Aesthetics, Craftsmanship Coordination, and Material Application" – as the primary scoring criteria, striving to select works truly representative of the highest level of Chinese liquor vessel design.

From the active participation with over 300 works to the final selection of 220 outstanding pieces, the inaugural "TGA | Yushang Award" has not only built an international and professional exchange platform for global liquor vessel design talents but also, using design as a link, promoted the collaborative innovation between liquor brewing techniques and vessel design. In the future, with the realization and dissemination of the award-winning works, this design feast gathering global creativity will inject more cultural connotations and innovative vitality into the Chinese and even the world's liquor industry, allowing the traditional wisdom of "fine liquor paired with fine vessels" to shine even more brightly in the new era.
