The 6th Goldreed Industrial Design Award (GIDA) launched its global call for entries on June 10, 2025, with a deadline of July 20. Established with the support of the Hebei Provincial People's Government and the Management Committee of Xiong'an New Area, GIDA is an international industrial design award that has been successfully held for five sessions. This edition features a comprehensive upgrade, with a total prize pool of 4.5 million RMB and a top prize of 1 million RMB. It includes Product, Concept, and special "Tech Innovation Voucher" categories, focusing on directions such as industrial transformation, green design, and AI integration.

Asia Design Week, as an official partner promotion unit, provides the referral code "ADW". Designers and agencies are welcome to register and submit works through the official GIDA website, jointly contributing to the "Global Design · Launched in Xiong'an · Made in Hebei" initiative and actively competing for the "Excellent Organization Award".

Major Competition Upgrade with Launch of "Tech Innovation Voucher"

The 6th Goldreed Industrial Design Award has further upgraded its competition structure and prize pool. This year's total prize pool amounts to 4.5 million RMB, with a maximum grand prize of 1 million RMB, incentivizing innovation.

The competition features 1 Main Competition + 1 Special Competition. The Main Competition covers six categories: Industrial Equipment, Biomedicine, Digital Information, Transportation, Public Facilities, and Future Scenarios. The Special Competition, based on the actual needs for industrial development and urban construction in Hebei Province's 107 key characteristic industrial clusters and the Xiong'an New Area's key industries, organizes thematic responsive design solicitations. It offers a special "Tech Innovation Voucher" prize pool of 1.4 million RMB, aimed at leveraging Hebei's core leading industries and county-level characteristic industries to further promote industrial transformation and upgrading, directly addressing the "last mile" challenge of achievement transformation.

Participation Categories

The Main Competition is divided into the Product Category and the Concept Category, each covering the six competition categories. Entries should be products or works that meet the demands of economic and social development and consumption structure upgrades, possessing a forward-looking and artistic quality. Special encouragement is given to products and works based on the integration of "AI+", green environmental protection, and "Manufacturing + Service" design concepts with traditional products and industries.

Product Category

Entries must be products launched on the market within the last three years (i.e., after June 2022), or products that can be launched before the award ceremony of this year (September 2025). For the final review, a physical product or a functional prototype of equal scale must be provided.

Concept Category

Entries must be original design works not yet available on the market or in production, demonstrating significant innovation in function, structure, form, technology, materials, or user experience. For the final review, a prototype or model must be provided.

Participation Categories

1. Industrial Equipment: Focuses on designs that promote intelligent manufacturing, optimize production efficiency, and support the development of emerging industries. Includes products and services across the entire industry chain, such as high-end engineering equipment, robotics, intelligent basic manufacturing equipment, instrumentation, intelligent measurement and control devices, specialized complete sets of equipment, and smart agriculture.

2. Biomedicine: Focuses on designs that promote the physical and mental health development of individuals. Includes products and services across the entire industry chain, such as high-end medical devices, therapeutic products, pharmaceutical production equipment, medical rehabilitation supplies, nursing products, and health management.

3. Digital Information: Focuses on innovative design applications of artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital technology, and information services in various fields. Includes products and services across the entire industry chain, such as industrial software, public services, smart city systems, blockchain applications, digital twin platforms, and AI service terminals.

4. Transportation: Focuses on the design of innovative mobility and transportation products for new energy, intelligent connected vehicles, and the low-altitude economy. Includes products and services across the entire industry chain, such as automobiles, aircraft, personal mobility devices, unmanned vehicles, and intelligent connected components.

5. Public Facilities: Focuses on designs that promote the renewal and quality improvement of urban spaces. Includes products and services in areas such as urban landscape installations, urban furniture and小品, signage and wayfinding, shared service terminals, traffic signaling equipment, public safety facilities, emergency equipment, leisure and entertainment facilities, and artistic sculptures.

6. Future Scenarios: Focuses on designs integrating future lifestyles, culture, technology, and creative thinking with innovative scenarios. Includes products and services in areas such as future home living, child-friendly products, age-appropriate products, intangible cultural heritage revitalization, cultural and creative products, fashion apparel, packaging design, IP形象, and digital culture.

Registeration

This edition of the Goldreed Industrial Design Award adopts a parallel registration mechanism of public application and expert nomination. Works submitted through public application must participate in the preliminary review round, while expert-nominated works, after verification by the organizing committee, can directly enter the final review round. To ensure the fairness and impartiality of the award, the review experts and nominating experts operate under a mutually independent working mechanism.

Note: All costs incurred from shipping entries, including transportation, insurance, and tariffs, for all category entries shall be borne by the participant.

Award rights

▲ Prize Money, Trophy, and Certificate

Winners will receive the corresponding prize money, a trophy, and an electronic award certificate. Works participating in this year's exhibition will receive an "Exhibition Certificate", and award-winning works donated to the organizing committee will receive a "Collection Certificate".

Award-winning works are granted the lifelong free right to use the "Goldreed Industrial Design Award" logo.

▲ Industrialization Support and Promotion
Organize industrial clusters, industrial design companies, investment and financing institutions, industry incubation and crowdfunding platforms to connect with interested participants. Conduct relevant matchmaking activities to facilitate the industrialization of projects, and prioritize recommending their implementation and application in various载体 across Hebei Province.

Winners will be invited to attend this year's award ceremony, Hebei International Industrial Design Week, and a series of related events, engaging in face-to-face exchanges and collaboration with hundreds of industry representatives from the global design, academic, media, and industrial sectors. They will also have the opportunity to serve as speakers at events such as the "GIDA Future Design Salon".

▲ Exhibition Opportunities
Award-winning works will have the chance for long-term offline product display at the Investment Promotion Center of the Xiong'an Green Building Exhibition Center. Additionally, they will participate in the online and offline global exhibition tour activities organized by the Goldreed Industrial Design Award Organizing Committee.

▲ Media Promotion and Award Winner Interviews
The Goldreed Industrial Design Award has established a media promotion network covering different industries and channels, collaborating with over a hundred mainstream media outlets globally. Winners will be prioritized for recommendation to participate in exclusive interviews with major media, further enhancing the social impact of outstanding designs and helping excellent participants gain millions of exposures and promotion.

▲ Work Inclusion
Each edition of the Goldreed Industrial Design Award will compile and promote a yearbook of outstanding works. Award-winning works will be included in the Goldreed Award Yearbook.

▲ Policy Support
In accordance with Hebei Province's supporting policies for industrial design development, enterprises will be guided to participate in design innovation competitions. Winners of the Goldreed Industrial Design Award will be provided with corresponding preferential policies, including financial rewards, talent introduction support, a green channel for enterprise listing, corporate financing assistance, and priority support for guiding fund applications. For award-winning students, priority recommendations for internships and job opportunities will be offered to key employers in industrial design enterprises.

▲ Priority Application for Xiong'an New Area "Xiong'an Talent Card"
Winners of the Goldreed Industrial Design Award who meet the corresponding criteria for Class A, B, or C talents as stipulated in the "Hebei Xiong'an New Area 'Xiong'an Talent Card' Management Measures (Trial)" can apply for the "Xiong'an Talent Card" according to their classification and receive corresponding services and guarantees based on their card type.

▲ Settlement Qualification
Award-winning enterprises will receive priority subsidies for settling in Xiong'an New Area industrial platforms such as the "Xiong'an Green Building Exhibition Center". Supporting services and conditions will be provided, including move-in readiness, talent apartments, and rental concessions.
