Co-organized Event | 2025 2nd "Guoyun Xinsheng" (Newborn National Charm) International Creative Design Competition Call for Entries Announcement!
2025 marks the year for the Hainan Free Trade Port to commence independent customs operations and expand its opening-up. According to the plan outlined in the "Master Plan for the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port", the Hainan Free Trade Port will achieve independent customs operations this year, positioning it as a crucial gateway leading China's opening-up in the new era. To promote the prosperous development of the art and design industry within the Hainan Free Trade Port, and grounded in its dual positioning as a "Hainan Free Trade Port" and an "International Design Island", the Hainan Art and Design Association will host the 2025 2nd "Guoyun Xinsheng" (Newborn National Charm) International Creative Design Competition.
The core theme, "Guoyun Xinsheng" (Newborn National Charm), carries profound meaning. It aims to reinterpret classic elements of traditional culture through modern design techniques, advocating for the global creative community to decode the spiritual core of traditional culture. It represents a globalized form of expression and a creative dialogue that transcends time.
The inaugural competition received nearly a thousand works from around the world, with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and professional designers from numerous renowned domestic and international institutions, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the China Academy of Art, City University of Hong Kong, Macau University of Science and Technology, Keimyung University (South Korea), the Royal College of Art, and LKK Innovation Design Group. Selected works from the competition were exhibited offline for five days at the Kejak International Art Museum (Daegu, South Korea).
For this edition of the competition, the Hainan Art and Design Association invites global creators to join hands and, on the axis of history and the future, compose a new cultural chapter for the new era.
